New Video Posted!! Brazil Heat!!

Hey there,

I just posted 2 videos, those jams are full of Brazilian flavor. Hmmm...

All songs are by one of my favorite guitarists, Kiko Loureiro.

The first song is called Feijao de Corda, from his first Brazilian fusion jazz solo CD called Universo Inverso.

The other songs are all tapping. It's really interesting. You gotta check that out!!

Oh, it has been a brazilian week!! A big inspiration from World Cup too!!

A Little interview with Sir Martin Taylor

Martin Taylor MBE is a highly respected British jazz guitarist. His world-known fingerstyle performance provides bass and chordal accompaniment in addition to a melody, that he is most renowned.

He had 2 concerts in Hong Kong on April 8 and 9.

Unfortunately he was stuck in Hong Kong for a few days because of the Iceland volcanic ash, during which all European flights were grounded.

He had to keep his academy web site updated, while he was in Hong Kong, so he wanted to have an interview with Hong Kong's guitar players.

He invited the very famous virtuoso guitarist, Eugene Pao. He also invited me for this interview about young guitar players in Hong Kong.

We did the interview at Tom Lee Music Studio. I used my Suhr Standard, BB preamp and Guyatone's Wah Rocker with a Fender Hot Rod DeVille 410 amp.

Martin had his Vanden Martin Talyor Artistry model.

We definitely had a good time - we jammed, sounded great and the interview went very well.

I will post the interview content later on, keep your eyes on it!!

Here I'm again in US,

Oh! And I got my guitar fixed.

New Video Uploaded!! Dream Theater - Repentance solo

Hey Everyone,

Happy New Year!! The first blog of this year.

I just recorded a video clip of the solo of Repentance by Dream Theater.

It is not hard to play, and there's a couple of tips for you to make it sound better.

1. Vibrato (in time)

2. Half-note bend (in tune)

3. Slur techniques (Hammer on, Pull off, Slide...)

4. 68 time signature

Be laid back, don't rush!!

Got RIOT Today!

Hey everyone, this is the last blog before I leave for Florida.

I just got my Riot pedal today, didn't expect that, they said it would arrive on next tuesday, well, glad they made that sooner.

Just couldn't wait to plug it to the amp and play some big chords!

I would never believe any distortion pedal before, 'coz they can never make a distortion sound like an amp. I would never count on any distortion pedal. HOWEVER, Riot totally changed my mind, or I should say I'd only trust Riot so far.

Incrediblely, it really sounds like an amp, a great distortion amp, as they said it's supposed to sound like the Channel 2 of PT100 by CAA (a.k.a. sort of suhr's amp)

I can play from classic rock like AC/DC to modern metal like ... whatever, can't think of anything.
